Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is an RPG game by one of my most favourite gaming companies, and the creators of the Final Fantasy Series. Thats right i’m talking about Square-Enix. All though I wasn’t aware of the Dragon Quest Series until I discovered this title sitting on the shelf of my local gaming shop, I am now glad to say that I have discovered this wonderful series of Games. Now Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is the eighth installment in the Dragon Quest series of games and was released in November of 2004 in Japan followed a year later by an American release with a European release in April of the following year. This game also came with a first, a playable demo of Square-Enix’s upcoming title, Final Fantasy XII, which was a treat for gamers.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King begins with an evil jester named Dhoulmagus who staels a magical scepter from Trodain Castle and turns everyone in the castle into plants. The king of the castle into a toad like monster and the princess of the castle into a horse. All but one person was cursed by this vilian, The Hero of the game. Simply called Hero (You name him in the game) was a night guardsman at the castle and when he finds out what happened to the castle including what happened to the King and the Princess, they all set off to find Dhoulmagus so that they can cure the curse and get the Magical Scepter back and restore all back to normal.

This is an excellent game worth playing, for all the Final Fantasy Fans out there, I reccomend this to you, it may be different with a different kind of game style and game play, but it is great nevertheless and is worth buying.
I give it 7.5 out of 10 and am waiting anxiously for the next installment in the Dragon Quest Series sometime in 2007 for my Nintendo DS.
